Kamuzu Academy was opened in 1981 by our Founder Dr. H. Kamuzu Banda. His intention was to establish a Secondary School, on the lines of the best Public and Grammar Schools in the U.K., which would accept the most able pupils and prepare them for Higher Education.
The Founder extended his original vision, so that the Academy is able to accept fee-paying students from around the world, as well as from within Malawi, whilst retaining a scholarship element. The guiding principles of the Academy are upheld and maintained by the supervision HISTORY, Philosophy AND AIMS of the Trustees and the Board of Governors.
Music is about communication, creativity and cooperation. By studying music in school, students have the opportunity to build on these skills, enrich their lives and experience the world from a new perspective.
